  A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAMBER

Greetings from the Loganville Chamber of Commerce. The Loganville Chamber is always seeking new and better ways to serve and improve the community. As we experience drastic changes due to growth throughout the city and the surrounding area, we are eager to hear the opinions of the residents and businesses in Loganville.

We've been so fortunate to have new, high quality businesses take root along the Highway 78 corridor. We have not only acquired these quality businesses, but also the beautiful structures which house them. You are going to see more of this in the last half of 2003 and into 2004.

We continue to seek out commercial industry to help cushion the tax base, but due to the lack of long range planning - which is often the case - we do not have large parcels of land to accommodate industry. To develop a commercial park we need 350-700 acres, so this is still a work in progress. We continue to work with the State of Georgia Department of Industry and Trade to attract industry to the area.

The Loganville Chamber of Commerce provides vital assistance to businesses seeking to locate in our area. We have been the guiding force behind a number of our new business as we work one-on-one to provide guidance and information as needed. The Chamber strives to be informed of all current and future plans that will effect this area.

The Chamber of Commerce sponsors special events to enhance and provide opportunities for the citizens to get together and keep the community spirit alive. We sponsor the Scholarship 5K Run in April each year with proceeds going to Scholarships at Loganville High. We are proud to serve as partners in education to our schools and this run allowed us to give three $1,000 scholarships to seniors in the 2003 graduating class. Logan's 5K Run and LoganFest are the third weekend in October each year and we coordinate the Tree Lighting to begin the Holiday Season on Thanksgiving each year. the highlight of our Holiday Season is the Christmas Parade held on the first Saturday of December.

It is the goal of the Chamber to be the rock of stability needed by the community to make good things happen. We need this community working together in a spirit of sharing responsibility and achievable goals to ensure our children a bright future. We are laying the foundation for our leaders of tomorrow. My hope is to leave a firm foundation for a bountiful future.

The Loganville Chamber serves the Loganville and West Walton area. We invite you to join with us as we seek to provide responsible leadership in our town during these changing times.

We wish you the best in 2007-2008.
